The Stihl 6-Layer Apron Protective Chaps (36") give you the leg protection you need without slowing you down. They’re made with a rugged 400-denier nylon shell and six layers of Avertic® Pro by Engtex® cut-retardant fabric. If your saw chain slips, those fibers are designed to jam the chain and reduce injury. These chaps are UL® classified and meet ASTM standards for chainsaw protection—real safety, not just claims.
This apron-style chap has an open back design, which keeps air moving so you don’t overheat while working. The waist adjusts from 30 inches up to 42 inches, and an optional extender is available if you need more room. At 36 inches long, they cover from your waist to past your calf, giving solid protection for taller workers. For shorter users, Stihl also makes the same apron chaps in 32-inch length, and for extra height, 40-inch versions are available. Proper sizing matters: the chap should cover from your waist to the top of your boots with minimal overlap to give the best protection. A front cargo pocket adds space for a small tool or phone, and reinforced knees hold up to kneeling and bending. The outer shell resists oil and water so they don’t get heavy or stained easily. Cleaning is simple—just machine wash on gentle and hang dry to keep the fibers intact.
