Replacement Irritant Smoke Tubes are consumable test components used with qualitative fit test kits to verify the seal integrity of half-face and full-face respirators. Each tube generates irritant smoke (stannic chloride) that reveals leaks through the wearer's involuntary response—coughing or detecting the irritant indicates an inadequate seal.
These tubes provide a quick, economical method for conducting OSHA 1910.134 Appendix A qualitative fit testing. The stannic chloride smoke is highly sensitive to even minor leaks that visual inspection cannot detect, making it an effective tool for identifying cracks, stress lines, or improper fit before workers enter hazardous environments. Each box contains 6 replacement tubes compatible with Allegro's Irritant Smoke Test Kit.
