Every week is Construction Safety Week, but this week, it's official.
When it comes to working in construction, utilities, or infrastructure, safety isn’t optional — it’s survival. Every task, every shift, every site starts and ends with one thing: protecting your crew and yourself.
What is National Safety Week?
National Safety Week began in 2014 when a group of leading U.S. construction firms — known as The Construction Industry Safety (CISI) group — decided the industry needed a unified push to refocus on jobsite safety. Over the years, it’s grown into a nationwide movement, rallying crews across America to put safety at the center of every job. Today, it’s a wake-up call every May to double down on what matters most: going home in one piece.
At PowerPak, we live and breathe jobsite safety. It’s built into everything we do. From personal protective equipment to fall protection gear to lifting, rigging and tie down equipment, we know the risks you face — and we know what you need to help you beat them. Our message for Safety Week is simple: Respect the rules. Respect your gear. Respect the work.
When is National Safety Week 2025?
Typically the first full week of May, May 5 – 9, 2025, marks this year’s National Safety Week — the reminder we all need before summer kicks off. It’s not about ticking boxes or just wearing a hard hat because you have to. It’s about setting a standard every worker on your site can depend on — a standard that could be the difference between clocking out safely or not at all.
Here’s how you make safety second nature:
- Know What You Need: Get the right PPE for your job.
- Use It Right: Gear only works if it’s worn and used the way it’s designed.
- Inspect It: If it’s broken or worn, it’s not doing the job. Check it.
- Clean It: Dirty gear wears down fast. Take five minutes. It matters.
- Replace It: Damage or heavy wear? Get a replacement. No cutting corners.
- Make It Known, Keep it Shown: Start with a toolbox talk and keep safety tips visible on site.
Safety is earned every single day. It doesn’t care how tough you are or how many years you’ve been in the game. It rewards preparation, not pride.
